Military Laser Rangefinder - It is almost indispensable in the military equipment of special forces or armed forces: Laser rangefinders for professional use. Especially in critical situations, accurate distance measurement is essential for reliable weapon aiming. So Laser Rangefinders are standard equipment around the world with many defense forces.
Today, accurate distance is essential for observation and target location. To ensure that it works smoothly even in difficult conditions, Safran Vectronix offers a wide range of advanced products for military observation and defense: Expanding from ultra-lightweight, yet mounted weapon rangefinders, vehicle or helmet-mounted or hand-held rangefinder binoculars to the complex. but still compact observation systems.
Military Laser Rangefinder
In the field of hand-held rangefinders, military and tactical forces can choose from several different laser rangefinders, for example the very light JIM COMPACT rangefinder. Derived from the proven JIM LR family, it weighs only 2kg, but has everything you need for a multi-functional long-range binocular system. Or the MOSKITO family, has been proven in many missions. The current MOSKITO TI combines many functions, light weight and intuitive operation better than any other device in its class. The JIM and MOSKITO families include product models with integrated functions for day and night observation, such as a night vision option. Safran's Vectronix JIM HR also has integrated thermal imaging. The successful VECTOR family must also be mentioned here. For example, VECTOR 23 can accurately measure up to 25 kilometers. Perfectly adapted to the requirements of military forces and special forces.

Even with installed observation systems, professionals can choose from different models according to the purpose and task and combine them with hand-held systems. For example, the proven STERNA product family can be combined with devices from the JIM, VECTOR or MOSKITO families. In this way, the observation options can be precisely tailored to each task. GONIOLIGHT combines the capabilities of handheld systems with the north-finding capabilities of a digital (non-magnetic) compass.

All this increases the security of military and civilian operations around the world. The AN/PED-1 Lightweight Laser Designator Rangefinder (LLDR) is a man-portable, modular target location and laser designator system. The main components are the Target Locator Module and the Laser Designator Module.
The TLM includes a thermal camera, day camera, laser spotting, electronic display, eye-safe laser range finder, digital magnetic compass, selective access/anti-spoof module global positioning system (SAASM GPS) and digital export functionality. The original LLDR 1 operated on a BA-5699 battery, but could also use a Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio System (SINCGARS) battery if laser marking was not required.
A new compact laser detector is installed in the LLDR 2. It consumes less power and runs on a standard SINGARS battery. LLDR 2H (AN/PED-1A) was developed by PM SPTD. It integrates the celestial navigation system with the TLM digital magnetic compass. It provides highly accurate target coordinates so that the soldier can call in fire with precise GPS-guided munitions. In the service equipment change program, the LLDR 1 and 2 systems would be retrofitted with LLDR 2H accuracy starting from the 13th fiscal year.

TLM works as a separate device or together with LDM. At night and in invisible combat conditions, the driver can identify vehicle-sized targets from more than three kilometers away. During daytime operations, targets Soldiers can identify targets at a distance of more than seven kilometers. The LDM emits coded laser pulses compatible with DoD and NATO laser-guided munitions. Soldiers can point at targets at a distance of more than five kilometers.
